Has anyone noticed the little ticker up there? As of today there are 78 days left or 11.14 weeks. This equals approximately 11 weekends to do stuff around the house. Minus one for Christmas vacation (to Rochester for, oh let's see, like a day), minus 4 leading up to the actual due date because I want to be DONE at least a month in advance. That leaves 11-1-4 = 6 weekends to get stuff done. We can totally do it!
One of the most important things on the list is THE ROOM.
We live in a 2+ bedroom condo. This means that we have two "real" bedrooms (as defined by the presence of a closet) and a "fake" bedroom (as definied by the absence of a closet). That anyone whould define any of our "closets" as such is really a point of debate. They are the teeniest tiniest closests known to man. So, I guess I would argue that we have no real bedrooms. But I digress.
The second bedroom, fondly referred to as "The Cat Room" has served as a guest room/cat liter box room/Rob's dressing room/cat feeding station. A liter box in the guest room? Yes, that is the ONLY place to put it. Here is a picture as taken by Rob for the promo material for the House Selling Fiasco.

Rob picked the color - sunshine yellow. It is actually not nearly as bad as I originally envisioned as the yellow looks marvelous with the woodwork and the room gets a ton of sun during the day.
This is the room that will be transformed into the Nursery. The furniture will be moved/stored/thrown out, the cats will be relocated, and we will clean the crap out of it.
We originally planned to keep the color as is. I googled to determine if baby's with bright yellow rooms are smarter/dumber/funnier/cuter than the rest. Unfortunately more than one source mentioned that bright primary colors are not the best choice for nurseries as they are quite stimulating. If I had never known this - I wouldn't have cared to change it. However, when we think about the lack of sleep that is about to wave over the house we both want to minimize all excuses for causing LESS sleep. I am pretty sure that at some point if someone advises us to wear tin foil hats for more sleep we will comply.
So, the room has gone from bright yellow to Grasslands Green. Curtosy of Mr. Reverse Flash himself.

Progress has been made since this photo.
Stay tuned for the latest update in this exciting world of baby. baby. baby.
In the meantime check out what I've been up to. I used a super cool floor planning program provided for free by a local (*huge*) furniture store and came up with this as a layout for the room:

The dog is my favorite part. We're not sure if it's Gabby or Rya.
We've gone mad.
